Dr. Bruner is the president and co-founder of Environmental Technologies Group, a full-service environmental advisory and consulting firm established in 2005. ETG primarily focuses on due diligence for corporate and property acquisitions, site contamination investigations, and remediation of contaminated properties. Dr. Bruner is an experienced entrepreneur with specific skills in corporate operations, project management, personnel management and marketing. Dr. Bruner is an environmental scientist with a strong background in biology, ecology, toxicology, and data analysis.
Dr. Bruner has over 25 years experience in environmental project management, research, and reporting. Dr. Bruner has conducted research and managed projects in more than 30 States in the U.S. as well as Canada, Mexico, Belize, Chile, Argentina, Australia, and several European countries. Project activities have included Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments, due diligence and acquisition risk management, underground storage tank decommissioning, remediation system design, risk assessments, remedial investigations/feasibility studies, and asbestos and lead paint surveys and abatement projects. Dr. Bruner has also conducted research examining the effects of contamination on amphibian populations at a closed municipal landfill; examining the ecological effects of differing timber management practices; determination of groundwater and surface water toxicity as a result of leachate migration from a closed landfill; evaluation of the sensitivity of developing amphibians to ultraviolet-B radiation; and laboratory studies examining the effects of prenatal irradiation on extracellular matrix proteins in mice. During his time as a Doctoral student, he received a Presidential Fellowship for Water, Energy and the Environment from the Environmental Institute for four consecutive years and upon graduation he was awarded the Ph.D. Graduate Research Excellence Award from the Graduate College for his research projects in Canada, the U.S., and South America. In 2008 he was awarded the Alumni Award for Outstanding Environmental Achievement by the Environmental Science Graduate Program at Oklahoma State University.
Dr. Bruner earned an A.S. in Biological Science from Eastern Oklahoma State College in 1991, a B.S. in Biological Science from Oklahoma State University in 1994, a M.S. in Environmental Science from Oklahoma State University in 1998, and a PhD in Environmental Science from Oklahoma State University in 2002, as well as several technical certifications and holds licenses to handle hazardous materials.
