David Schultz has more than 35 years of project development, business start-up, and commercial negotiations in the midstream, gas and electric utility and LNG businesses and the state and federal regulatory issues surrounding each of those business segments.
Mr. Schultz is an independent advisor with both domestic and international clients. He played a key role in the due diligence of an acquisition of Honduran power generation and is currently working with an international team to establish an LNG import terminal in southern India. Additionally, Mr. Schultz is the founder and principle of New World Fuel which is currently exporting LNG, propane and other refined hydrocarbons from the USA to Mexico.
Previously, Mr. Schultz was Senior Vice President at LNG America focused on building the supply chain to serve primarily the marine market for LNG bunker fuel as well as other market segments. Further, Mr. Schultz started and led Pivotal LNG, a wholly owned subsidiary of AGL Resources, and built it into one of the largest LNG supply companies serving various high horsepower market segments. During his time at AGL he lead several infrastructure projects and their attendant commercial activities including Golden Triangle Storage a $300 million FERC regulated natural gas storage project on the Spindletop Salt dome in Texas and a large scale LNG import in Virginia.
Mr. Schultz’s over 35 years of experience in the energy industry has include senior positions in the power generation and natural gas pipeline industry. In power generation, he has held lead positions in the development of gas turbine power generation projects totaling more than $5.0 billion. In the natural gas industry, he has played a key role in the development, permitting and construction of $2.0 billion worth of pipeline projects.
Mr. Schultz earned a B.A. in Political Science from San Diego State University in 1977. He serves on the board of directors of the Texas Energy Museum in Beaumont, Texas.
